Spanish cavalry at Albuera (1811)

Le Marchant Brigade at Salamanca (1812)

allied cavalry. battle of la albuera (1811) ... and pre-1813

The battle of La Albuera was fought in 1811. At that date, the British heavy cavalry weared a cocked hat and not the clssic-style helmet later seen at Waterloo. There are not plastic figures depicting such units but a very easy conversion can be made by using the Italeri 6007/Revell 02589 Prussian Cuirassiers and painting them as British. This same Italeri 6007/Revell 02589 cavalry set can be used to make Spanish heavy/line cavalry around that date.

The hussar-style Italeri 6040/Esci 230 British Light Dragoons can be used to depict several of the colorful Spanish Hussar units that proliferate during the Peninsular War
